New Orleans is amazing! Its another world down here! We arrive late tonight, went to the hotel, dropped off our bags and then headed straight to Bourbon Street. Pat O'Brien's is the place to be when youre in New Orleans and on Bourbon Street. The bar was packed (meanwhile, its a Tuesday) and there was a dueling piano! The drink of choice in New Orleans is a Hurricane- which is a sweet, kool-aid like drink, full of sugar and alcohol. I had about half of mine and gave half to Shane. BUT, the best thing about New Orleans, is their open container laws. You can take your drink out of any bar and go into another. Also, there is no cover!
We went to 3 bars in the course of an hour and each had their own live music. The second bar we went to (first being the dueling pianos) had life jazz music! The third, a cover band playing all 80s rock! It was so much fun! I tuckered out around 1am or so and headed back to the hotel with another classmate. All in all, a great start to NOLA!
