Tonight, a group of my friends and I went to the Banff Film Festival at the Paramount Theatre downtown. It was an amazing experience and the films were fantastic! By far the most intense one (and they were all intense) was the story of this German woman who survived being pulled through a storm cloud in Australia while paragliding in 2007. She was sucked up into the cloud, narrowly escaping death; being pelted by hail and rain and reaching an altitude of nearly 10,000 meters (typically, human life cannot exist beyond 6,000 because the oxygen is being metabolized at a higher rate than can be breathed in). No human has ever (or probably ever will) survive something like this and it is an amazing story of one person's will to survive despite all physical odds. The rest of the films were great as well and I had wonderful company! So, here is a pic of my night!
